White Hollow Road Sanitary Sewers, North Branford, CT NYE personnel were responsible for managing a design team who prepared the preliminary studies and design, final construction plans and specifications for the installation of 60,000 L.F. of gravity sewer, over 8,000 L.F. of forcemain and three sewage pump stations. The entire design, including surveys, plans, specifications and estimates for all facilities, was completed in less than six months from a notice to proceed. The final construction project was broken down into six (6) separate construction contracts. This project has effectively remedied health problems in the area caused by failed septic systems and contaminated wells. Final cost of all improvements was approximately $11,000,000. Responsibilites on this project included sewershed drainage study and capacity analysis; alternative route analysis; prepareation of preliminary and finald esign plans and specifications; coordination of subsurface soil boring program and construction; grant/loan application assistance; bidding assistance during bidding periods and at bid openings; construction administration and inspection; preparation of as-built sewer plans.
