Seymour Sanitary Sewer Phase II, Seymour, CT

The Town of Seymour Water Pollution Control Authority looked to extend the existing sanitary sewer system to the northwest section of this growing community. Because of the size of the undertaking, the project was divided into four separate contracts. Each sewer contract included approximately 10,000 L.F. of trunk and/or lateral sanitary sewer pipe. In addition, there were separate contracts for up-grading the existing water pollution control facility, The Derby Avenue Pump Station and construction of two (2) new pump stations. Elements on this project included staging and traffic control plans to maintain safe traffic flow during construction, coordination with utilities including a twelve inch high pressure gas main and installation of over 10,000 L.F. of watermain under a separate contract. The final cost for all improvements exceeded $6,000,000.

Responsibilities on this project included preparation of construction contracts for award; analysis of pump station operation, hydraulic characteristics and testing; preparation of facility analysis reports; construction administration; resident inspection; and as-built sewer plans.
